Property, waste disposal effort grows in Poland
Waste liquids at a Polish training site are loaded up for in-country disposal through a DLA Disposition Services-administered hazardous waste removal contract. The agency expects to set all-time highs in hazardous waste disposal for rotational forces stationed there in fiscal 2020.

June 24, 2020 - Since DLA’s establishment in 1961, the agency has relied on the many iterations of its operations center as the single point for coordinating agencywide responses during disasters and emergencies.

Fast, easy-to-prepare meals are vital part of DLA Troop Support’s COVID-19 response

States receive $4.5 million in excess medical supplies
Snowblowers, cranes, generators - millions of dollars in former military equipment flows to city and state governments through DLA Disposition Services each year. Property donation extends the life of taxpayer-funded items and helps the Defense Department avoid disposal costs and keep valuable items out of landfills.
June 22, 2020 - From syringes to snowblowers, U.S. states have long relied on DLA’s excess military property for everything from rural firefighting vehicles and education technology to pandemic response equipment.

June 18, 2020 - Military medical teams that augmented U.S. hospital staffs providing COVID-19 care had commercial lodging, food, laundry support and more with help from the Defense Logistics Agency mid-March through May.

DLA Troop Support helps keep lunchtime going during COVID-19
The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, in a partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Nutrition Service, supports the Department of Defense Fresh Program. Through this program, DLA Troop Support buys and distributes fresh produce weekly to schools. At the height of schools closing around the country due to COVID-19 in mid-March, DLA Troop Support’s Subsistence supply chain added 200 schools from Illinois into this program.
